problem with Gst-discoverer-1.0 and rtsp stream

Hello, i create an rtsp stream from vlc. I then try to use gst-discoverer-1.0
on stream to verify format and liveness. This is what i get with
GST_DEBUG=3:

Done discovering rtsp://172.16.102.110:8554/main

Strange thing is that after this command i cannot play the stream anymore,
looks like gst-discoverer hanged server somewhat. 
I use gst-discoverer to verify if server is streaming before starting
player, it works perfectly with http streams. Does anyone have an idea of
what's going on and how to solve. Is there eventually some different
startegy i can follow to verify stream aliveness before starting playback.
