Network AV source plugin development...

I have developed a new media (video and audio) server, and I would like to
create a GStremer based player to use with it.

I based on my very limited knowledge of GStreamer, I will need to create a
"source plugin" for my media server network client interface protocol.  Can
anyone suggest some example source code that would be a good place to start
for creating my new network source plugin?
