Hardware accelerated decoding/encoding on Windows

Dear all,

We're using Windows-GStreamer for a few years now, but were always somewhat limited by CPU because we have the need to (re-)encode live video streams. So we finally want to take advantage of hardware acceleration. On Linux it's kind of easy, but we have Windows workstations in place where we need the gstreamer and can not replace them nor do we want to place an extra piece of hardware there.

So I wanted to compile Gstreamer myself to include VA-API Plugins. However, it seems to me it's not possible on Windows, at least due tp dependencies that are not available on MingW/MSYS (libva, libdrm, libdl, ...).

So does anyone have an advice on how to make use of Gstreamer AND Hardware-Accelerated h264 de-/encoding in the Windows world?

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Mario
