Changing Src Pads Capabilities for An Eleemnt Gotten From the Factory

Hi,


   I have an element I have gotten from the factory for my C source code 
based player.  How do I now change the src pads capabilities.

I have to change the src pads capabilities to make one of the attributes 
a fixed value.  I do not have

access to the element's source code.  I haven't found any C code 
examples where I can get the src pad and then change it capabilties.
