Mux telemetry data to a MPEG-TS file

Hello everyone 

I started using Gstreamer some weeks ago and still got a lot to figure out. 

So far I have managed to mux audio, and 2 camera streams into a ts-file
using the mpegtsmux. 

My next task is to add telemetry data from accelerometer into the ts-file as
an extra data stream.

My thoughts for this, is using the appsrc element to insert data into the
pipeline and use appsink to extract data. 

Does anyone have experience with during this before? Is there maybe a better
way to go, any advice will be helpful.
