Getting image from stream

I have a pipeline but I don't know turn a buffer into image (don't know the
type, a pixmap maybe) and putting situational based text on it. Since I am
newbie maybe I've told wrong terms or description. But key point is
"obtaining data as image from pipeline and putting text on it and feeding to
pipeline in a loop so that modified images become my new stream instead of
unmodified images.I plan to use Qt GUI btw. Also you can give any advice,
doc. or webinar for me to understand gstreamer and its concepts. Thanks for
attention.
