Revert to old gstreamer version (Ubuntu 18.04)

Hey all,

I recently tried to build and install gstreamer 1.18 from source.
It worked fine for a while but now from some reason I cannot seem to link to
it, and I barely have any plugins installed (I had a bad reboot the other
day and I think it may had something to do with it).

Now I cannot find a way to simply reinstall gstreamer 1.14 from aptitude and
use my old installation.
If I try to apt install --reinstall <all gstreamer packages>, I still end up
with gst-inspect --version saying 1.18.2.

What can I do?
