This is not something the GStreamer project is in charge of, but the freedesktop.org infrastructure team.

I think the gist of it is that anongit.fdo is known to be very flaky, and when it goes down someone will eventually kick it back to life again, but at some point it will just go away.

There's a mirror of the common module and other modules in gitlab: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/common so I would recommend you use that.
