I've quickly studied the MXF-plugin code and it seems like there is support(?) for a metadata track, but it is unclear to me how its used. The final goal is to implement a plugin that generates per-frame-metadata which needs to be in sync with video. I would like to know how, and what kind of metadata the MXF plugins expects (Tags?).
