[gst-embedded] [SPAM] file source element

You can take a look on Source/gst-plugins-base/tests/examples/app/appsrc-ra.c example which illustrates how to use custom source (appsrc) with playibin.
In addition you may consider using decodebin2  - something along this line: your_filesrc location=%1 ! decodebin2 ! xvimagesink
