gstreamer decoder support

Hi,


Currently i am in the process of learning gstreamer.I have following doubts

1.How can we set decoder properties using gstreamer APIs.Please point me
  to any examples.

2.I want to write a plugin and my plugin should support hardware MPEG
decoder
  of any soc.Is there any support in gstreamer to do this without requiring
actual hardware

3.How can we use gstreamer with QT  and directfb.Any sample applications on
this.
