Reducing CPU usage with Gstreamer

Whenever I use gstreamer pipeline the cpu usage will be upto 40% with
audioconvert. But when I start streaming with C programming with gstreamer
API's the cpu usage will be upto 90%. I am unable to get this.

Will u help me with this?
