I admit I haven't looked closely at the code. I saw that compiling
against 2.26 doesn't produce any warnings while 2.30.2 does.
Too bad looking at this in great detail is beyond my capability atm. But
if I did, I'll certainly send a patch :-)

Agreed. I thought it's a recurring theme here as similar warnings are
suppressed when compiled against glib-2.0 < 2.19.8.
