problem with permissions

Hi,
A few things to check:
1) make sure you've restarted dbus/messagebus service after installing
hal, since you ahve to make dbus aware of
the /etc/dbus-1/system.d/hal.conf file
2) make sure there _is_ an /etc/dbus-1/system.d/hal.conf file
There are permission files that tell dbus what can and cannot do what.
