i don't have the expertise to do that: what i _have_ been doing is
mentioning it at every opportunity in the hope that if i sling enough
mud, some of it will stick :)

are you sure?? remember that kde does an opendir() just like that
bug i mentioned, and that causes that BLKRRDPART error.
