Yes, good point.  Here we're facing another problem:  The generic ACPI
video driver does not yet support many systems.  I'm really unsure if
the switch from the specific drivers to generic ACPI drivers will be
very smooth.

Do we want to integrate support of specific notebook drivers into HAL
nevertheless?  If yes, should we support interfaces of non-mainline
drivers, too?
