Hey all,

I m using HAL 0.5.5.1, DBUS 0.50r1, Ivman 0.6.6 and pmount 0.9.6 and I
an having some problems with one specific piece of hardware on only one
machine.

I have the above setup with all the default settings AFAIK, I havent
changed anything manually after install. The setup works for USB storage
devices apart from one device I have which is a digital camera (just
another USB Mass Storage device). The very strange thing is that on an
identical system it does work.

My problem is that when I plug in the device HAL stops at this point:

**************************************************
**************************************************
Doing addon-storage for /dev/sda (bus scsi) (drive_type disk) (udi
/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_model_QV_DigitalCamera)
**************************************************
**************************************************
12:29:26.242 [I] hald_dbus.c:3007: 5123: Got a connection
12:29:26.242 [I] hald_dbus.c:3008: dbus_connection_get_is_connected = 1
5128: 12:29:29.546: addon-acpi.c:78: Cannot connect to acpid socket: No
such file or directory
5128: 12:29:34.550: addon-acpi.c:78: Cannot connect to acpid socket: No
such file or directory
5128: 12:29:39.554: addon-acpi.c:78: Cannot connect to acpid socket: No
such file or directory

After this the acpid error just keeps repeating. As I when I plugin
other USB Mass Storage devices HAL continues with more messages and
eventually Ivman mounts the device as it should.

When I plug the camera into the other machine

I have no clue why this device inparticualr is causing problems, any
advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks
