Hi, sorry for the lag. Lets get this in ASAP. 

Looking at the patch there's still some support for listening on the
netlink socket and some code that can be removed post 2.6.15. Why don't
we just scrap that and start depending on 2.6.15 since it's going to be
out soon, before hal 0.5.6 anyway :-)
