HAL doesn't recognize my disks

David is right here. It sounds definitely like a udev problem.
Does:
[kay at pim ~]$ udevinfo -q all -p /block/hda/hda1
P: /block/hda/hda1
N: hda1
S:
print anything like that? If not remove all /dev/.udev* files or
directories and run /sbin/udevstart again to recreate the database and
try udevinfo again.
