Policy for fdi files?

What is the policy for fdi files?
I've made one for the MP3 player I own (which has both internal memory 
and an MMC/SD reader). Is hal supposed to include as many as needed or 
is the idea that this should be added in the distribution?
I've included the fdi for those interested =)
