Yes, I think we should. We need this on SUSE to set up permissions for
these devices with resmgr. I discussed this and the relations between
the alsa and oss devices with our alsa developer (Takashi Iwai)

ALSA and OSS are two different things. Quote from [1]: "One of the aims
of ALSA is to provide full OSS compatibility for OSS applications. ALSA
has an OSS emulation which supports all of the OSS devices listed below
although the OSS sequencer /dev/sequencer only half works (playback
works but recording from MIDI keyboards is broken ...)". For more
