HAL on Darwin/OSX?

Greetings,

I was curious if HAL runs on the Darwin/Mac OSX platform?

 From what I gather, it doesn't, it appears to be Linux only...

When running configure, I get the error:

    configure: error: cannot find pci.ids. Use --with-hwdata to specify 
location

Are there pci.ids files available for Darwin?
