Stuff like this really belongs in the SetLowPowerMode script. Different
distros may put different stuff in this. Ideally we can get many distros
to ship the same scripts but for now I think this needs to be per
distro. The whole kernel/udev/HAL/base-os stuff is just too different
across distros to have one package right now - hopefully this can change
but there are many reasons (including political ones) that this is so.

So for Fedora I'd say that the pm-utils package should pull in e.g.
laptop-mode and do all the magic there. Didn't you file a bug in the Red
Hat bugzilla about this? If so, care to share the bug number?
