Tamarack project is now an official OpenSolaris project:

Tamarack is a project to improve user experience with removable media
and hotpluggable devices in Solaris. It concerns various aspects such as
hotplug, discovery, content recognition as well as usability, security
and performance across all layers of the software stack from device
drivers to GUI.

We have two documents available:

- working draft of the project proposal
- "HAL reverse engineered" article

Send your comments to tamarack-discuss at opensolaris dot org. If you'd
like to discuss more than one aspect of the proposal, please create a
separate thread for each aspect, so the discussion can stay focused.
