Simple question: volume.ignore ?

Hi,

just a simple question: 

How could I set volume.ignore to true for a  particular device (disk
partition) ?

I guess somewhere in the XML files in /etc/hal, but the documentation
is too complex. It tells the meaning of the value, but not how to set
it.


(Background: I have an encrypted partition not meant for user
access. When starting Gnome or XFCE, the gnome volume manager asks for
a passwort, which is annoying.)
