Point taken. So a 'proper' solution would be an addon with an inotify
watch on fstab that sets the properties whenever things change.
Would you be interested in such a feature at all? If so, then I'm
happy to cook something.
If not, i. e. if I have to maintain this as a local patch anyway, I'm
going to make that much simpler, screw the FDI rule and just check
fstab/hide the volume in gnome-vfs.
