I agree with Kay, unless hal-device-manager can do anything (like edit
values, perform methods) it remains a debugging tool for developers.
The only other use case I can see is a new user saying "I wonder what
IDE chipset I have" and using h-d-m to find out more info. I'm sure
lshal or lspci would give the same information tho.
