fixed mounting point with devlabel?

Hi,

I am using Fedora Core 4 on both my laptop and my desktop computers, with
HAL and hotplug working on both machines.

When I plug an external USB disk (having two partitions) the following
mounting points become available:

/media/usbdisk
/media/usbdisk1

The problem is that I cannot predict to which partition they are actually
related! The assignement usually changes from laptop to desktop, and also
on the same machine, at different times.

When using RedHat 9.0 (and a lower kernel), I used to label each partition
of the external USB disk in a "fixed" way with devlabel, and then edit my
/etc/fstab accordingly (and statically).

I am afraid this cannot be done with 2.6.x kernels and hotplug. Am I
right?
