Python/DBus/Hal Oh no!

So far I've managed to pull in a number of things but for some reason DBus
keeps of dieing in the most horrible of ways:

this script freezes when it tried to get properties from my onboard network
card pci:VT6102 [Rhine-II] and nothing short of killing it will stop the
process. is there some way I could debug these issues?
