I accidentally replied to the OP off list since the hal list doesn't
munge the Reply-To. 90-gphoto-camera-policy.fdi is supplied by
Fedora. They just fixed the bug in the past week to have it include
the "proprietary" driver cameras. I think they use the .fdi file to
do some callouts to set device permissions. Presumably, he couldn't
see his camera because he didn't have permissions.
