I'm not sure what you mean by adopting. I surely can't rename the filesystem in 
the Solaris kernel, that's a stable interface.

I have a hunch that there is no elegant way to solve this mismatch and I don't 
have a preference which module the ugliness would reside in, as long as it's not 
exposed to HAL clients :)
