memory usage optimizations

Hi, all!

Do anyone have an ideas on using HAL on systems with limited resources, 
e.g. with little memory.

What could I target for memory consumption optimizations trading 
features for less memory usage? My system has only 32 megs of RAM, and 
supports quite little number of devices like MMC, USB-gadget, battery 
power monitor and fb/touchscreen. The device runs Linux, an architecture 
is ARM.
Currently hald itself consumes ~790K of RAM, not including callouts.
