Cool, I've been wanting to write a similar patch for a long time.

The reason for me wanting this is that lots of Fedora users apparently
turn off the ConsoleKit service (double-digit amounts of bugs I had to
close the past month) because they think they know better than the
vendor. And then they get all surprised when things don't automount etc.
So definitely +1 from me on that one.
