Why not? I want to have this configurable by the user (may in some kind of 
expert mode), independet from pm-utils and LowPowerMode() (I assume this get 
via SetPowerSave()) because this is e.g. also usefull for user which don't 
want to use all settings from SetPowerSave() e.g. if the machine run on 
dynamic CPU Freq settings on a Desktop machine (not a laptop).

IMO the feature is usefull and we should add it (beside the discussion if it 
should be part of the CPU freq addon) and pm-utils can call the method via 
HAL if needed. This would allow the desktop applets to change the settings 
for this feature after a call of SetPowerSave() depending on the user 
settings.

Btw. nobody force you to use the method (as nobody force me to use other stuff 
as I have to hear periodically ...).
