The hal-info-20071011 release has a configure check for hal >= 0.5.10
and aborts if the check fails.
Why exactly was this added, what will happen if this hal-info release
is used with hal < 0.5.10 (which could happen for pre-compiled binary
packages)?
It seems that this is more a runtime dependency than a build-time dependency.
This information would be relevant for packagers and the NEWS file
would be a good place for that kind of changes.
