Hi,

I'm facing problems to start the hal daemon.

These are the log and softwares versions:

_HAL package version: 0.5.9.1

UDEV version: 0.105-4

DBUS version: 1.1.1-3

OS Version: Debian etch

Kernel: 2.6.23

KDE version: 3.5.7

1) hald --daemon=yes --verbose=yes --use-syslog --retain-privileges

hald_dbus.c:5086: dbus_bus_get(): Did not receive a reply. Possible
causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message
bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the
network connection was broken.

2) lshal command output:

error: dbus_bus_get: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive
a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a
reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply
timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

Due to this problem CDs or DVDs are no longer mounted automatically in
KDE and I got an error message saying that the device is available with HAL

Regards.

Antonio
