2.18 should work. Try locking the screen explicitly and check the
output of ck-list-sessions.

I created http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/ConsoleKit and
requested a bugzilla component [1]. Is there something else to do?
As long as nobody complains I think it is ok to continue to squat on
the HAL list. Any objections?
