laptop_panel.duplicate_video_device quirk?

Hi,

I have recently reported bug #9614 at the kernel bugzilla. It says about
two video devices being present in Toshiba Satellite A100 laptop.
Unfortunately, Zhang Rui (the assignee) said that there is currently no
fix for the issue and that it should probably be dealt with in userspace
for now. So, what do you think about creating such quirk? Is it even
possible?
