The commits in question were mostly FreeBSD-specific, yes.  However,
they were all committed outside of the hald/freebsd backend (for which I
have already received implicit permission).  If what I did was okay, I
will continue to submit the remainder of my patches needed to get
hal-0.5.10 working on FreeBSD.
