on HAL and enforcing system policies

Hi there,

I'm trying to enforce the following system policy : "read-only mount
every removable media."
I initaly thought about volume.policy.* to be the right place and
after some trial and error found that it is deprecated.
($ grep -A2 libhal_volume_policy_get_mount_options
/usr/include/hal/libhal-storage.h)

sums it up pretty well.
Actually the answer there does not satisfy my needs as I'm looking for
a system-wide
policy, not an user based.

Is PolicyKit of any use for such need ?

PS: mail resent, inital address was @freedesktop.org, apparently
sufficient to be archived by mailman, but not to be broadcasted.
