scripting or script-triggering support at all. This should be
outsourced to project-external tools--also to support concurrency and
allow for perl and python modules, etc. Hal and udev should not care
about this but concentrate on network communication. Everything that
has to be known at startup should be uploaded by external tools--
started from the rc-scripts, for example. This would also allow for
different forms of script notation for, possibly, straight integration
into bigger system-management suites, etc.

Is this standpoint too weird?
