Very nice; thanks.  Once that makes it into 3.5.x svn, please let me
know if you think about it - assuming all goes as planned, I'll try to
get those into our 3.5.10 packages.

No idea; I thought I remembered someone here saying they'd pass all
this along to the gnome folks though.
