dummy-hal instead of hal?

Hello,

i'm using linux instead of windows and that's why i don't install hal...

now debian made the fault to require hal as dependency for xorg and 
people hate it...

i'd like to know if it is possible to run hal and having it do 
absolutely nothing instead of handing static values from a config file 
to processes? i think that would fix the most problems people have with 
hal...
