gps devices

hi there,

i am coming from the kde team, and want to help out coding support for gps
devices into hal.

as we have a backend in kde which is based (for linux) upon hal, i want to
ask i there is already some support for gps ?

is there already a namespace defined ?

how do i proceed in coding the neccessary support ?

i got a gps device here that is connected by usb or bluetooth, and i think
that there might be pci devices (build in like in the iphone).

if you can help me how to start it would be very nice !
