Elantech touchpad not reporting input.touchpad capability

hald is not assigning the input.touchpad capability to Elantech
touchpad devices as it bases this capability on the ability of a
device to report pressure information.
While synaptics touchpads report pressure information, Elantech
touchpads do not, so it appears reliance of this ability to determine
touchpad status is deficient.
Is it possible to fix hald such that correct assigns elantech touchpad
devices the input.touchpad capability?
