signature "ssas" on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" doesn't exist

When `growisofs' has finished writing to a disk, I am seeing the
above error message. This is on Solaris 11.1 which is using
HAL. It would seem that something is trying to mount the
disk I have just written which contravenes the Law of Least
Surprise.

I can see an entry for the `method_signatures' for the above
property in the hal configuration files and I am tempted to simply
edit out the `ssas' string, but it would be nice to fix this properly.

Can anyone tell me what's going on please?
