Ed's suggestion on the other thread is helpful here I think.

If you're a user of the script but not a programmer, then you can
still offer valuable help by reviewing output from various programs
and pointing out places where it is incorrect or ugly.

The goal is to have an automatic test suite which can verify harfbuzz
output without any visual inspection. That requires extracting the
(glyph, x, y) data for the test documents. Behdad will modify pango to
do this, and someone will have to write something similar for
Uniscribe.

Such programs will also produce output which we'll need help checking
visually. If you want to assist in the meantime, collect more of the
sort of comprehensive documents that have already been posted, create
a pdf (or screenshot images) using specific fonts, and post any
problems you can observe, along with the source document and the name
and specific version of the font. That will offer a head start on
where to look for bugs, and inspire the programmers to complete the
extraction and automation code. :)
