It wouldn't have helped you in that instance - the Firefox bug there was 
that we broke the support for the AAT Myanmar font, but that's distinct 
from Firefox's use of harfbuzz. (We need to use Core Text, not harfbuzz, 
to render the AAT font properly.)

To detect text-shaping issues before they make it to the Firefox 
release, it would be most useful if you run Firefox Aurora[1] or even 
Nightly[2] builds, so that you're seeing the actual behavior and 
configuration that we're planning to ship in an upcoming release. If 
bugs are reported during the Nightly or Aurora phase of development, 
there's a good chance we can get them fixed -before- the version goes 
out in the release channel.
