Another change you might want to consider is wrap all the parsing code
above in a function and make it fill a
struct data {
int devid;
enum command command;
int offset;
int count;
uint8_t wval;
};
and return error or 0 from there. You could use an union for count and
val as their use is mutually exclusive.
