There is some evidence (see bug #85267) that always_flush_cache=true or
always_flush_batch=true may help.

always_flush_cache=true always_flush_batch=true chromium-browser

This suggests that we're missing a flush somewhere... but finding where is like
finding a needle in all the haystacks. :(
